Kansai Outlets by Campervan: Which Car Park Takes a Tall Vehicle? The Official Rules at Rinku, Kobe-Sanda and Kadoma, 2026
If you are driving a campervan to an outlet mall, check the car park height limit before you look at the list of shops. Turn up at a multi-storey entrance you cannot fit under and the day goes off course before you have bought anything. In the DREAMAX Connect dataset, Japan has 32 operating outlet malls, 6 of them in Kansai (as of September 2026). This guide takes three of the Kansai ones, Rinku, Kobe-Sanda and Kadoma, and tells you where to park a vehicle 2.1 m or taller and what it costs, based on each outlet's official pages.

Before you go: check your height first
An outlet is an easy stop to fit into a campervan day. The three outlets in this guide have car parks of between about 3,200 and about 4,800 spaces. With a tall vehicle, though, check the height limit on the car park before you decide which shops to visit.
Heights of our four campervans: Treasure 1 at 2,800 mm, Happy 1 Turbo at 2,600 mm, Delica D:5 at 2,100 mm and Petit-Cam Villa at 2,000 mm. The height limits in this guide are 2.1 m at Rinku and 2.3 m at Kadoma. At Rinku, Treasure 1, Happy 1 Turbo and Delica D:5 go to P4; at Kadoma, Treasure 1 and Happy 1 Turbo go to a surface lot. Reversing out of a multi-storey entrance holds up the cars behind you and costs you time. Decide which car park you will use before you set off and you can drive straight to it on the day.

Quick reference: where does a vehicle 2.1 m or taller park?
Here is the answer up front. The first three lines give each outlet's car park rule; the last 4 apply those rules to our 4 campervans. Fees and conditions follow, outlet by outlet.
On the day you visit Kobe-Sanda, follow the signs at the car park entrance and the staff on site.

Rinku Premium Outlets: 2.1 m or taller, use P4
The official notice (translated from the Japanese) reads: "Only vehicles under 2.1 m in height may park in car parks P1, P2 and P3. If your vehicle is 2.1 m or taller, please use P4." So if your vehicle is 2.1 m or taller, park in P4, a surface lot. Of our four campervans, Treasure 1, Happy 1 Turbo and Delica D:5 go to P4, and Petit-Cam Villa (2,000 mm) may use P1, P2 or P3.
Fees depend on the car park. P1 is ¥400 per hour. P2, P3 and P4 cost ¥400 a day at most on weekdays and ¥400 per hour on weekends and public holidays. Spend ¥2,000 or more at one shop and you get 3 hours free; spend ¥50,000 or more and parking is free all day. You can enter and leave 24 hours a day, there are about 3,200 spaces, and there are about 250 shops.
Kansai International Airport is about 5.8 km away in a straight line. That makes Rinku easy to fit in as the first stop on the day you collect a campervan at the airport, or as the last stop before you return it there.

Kobe-Sanda Premium Outlets: free parking, and a large-vehicle note on the 大沢IC route
On parking fees, the official Premium Outlets FAQ answers (translated): "free everywhere except Rinku". Parking at Kobe-Sanda is free, with about 4,800 spaces, and the car parks are open from 9:00 to 22:00.
The official page gives no height limit for the car parks. On the day, follow the signs at the car park entrance and the staff on site.

Large vehicles cannot come in from 大沢IC. The official wide-area access map (PDF) says, in translation: "Large vehicles cannot travel from 大沢IC to Kobe-Sanda Premium Outlets." Check your route on the detail page before you set off.
The outlet has about 210 shops (official overview, as of 2 February 2026).

LaLaport Kadoma / Mitsui Outlet Park Osaka Kadoma: 2.3 m or taller, use a surface lot
The official notice (translated from the Japanese) reads: "Height limit 2.3 m. Visitors arriving in a vehicle 2.3 m or taller, please use the surface car parks." If your vehicle is 2.3 m or taller, park in any of the surface lots: West A, West B or East (西A・西B・東). Of our campervans, Treasure 1 and Happy 1 Turbo go to a surface lot; Delica D:5 and Petit-Cam Villa are under the limit and can use any car park, following the entrance signs.
Every car park costs ¥200 per 30 minutes. Depending on how much you spend, you get a period of free parking; the official chart is linked from the detail page. The car parks are open from 8:00 to 24:00 and have about 4,300 spaces.
The complex combines Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Kadoma and Mitsui Outlet Park Osaka Kadoma, with 251 shops between them: 153 at LaLaport Kadoma and 98 at the outlet park, according to Mitsui Fudosan's press release of 8 February 2023.
Costco Kadoma is members only, with its own car park and entrance. A Costco receipt does not count toward free outlet parking.

Fitting an outlet into a campervan trip: three plans
Distances are straight-line approximations and the road distance will be longer, so check your route before you set off.
Handover at Kansai International Airport and in central Osaka is free; you cover only the tolls and fuel for that leg. Add Rinku to the day you collect or return at the airport and the shopping fits into a journey you are making anyway.
- Collection day at Rinku: pick up the campervan at Kansai International Airport and head to Rinku, about 5.8 km away in a straight line. At 2.1 m or taller, park in P4; on weekdays P4 costs ¥400 a day at most
- Return day at Rinku: stop for a last round of shopping before returning the van at the airport. Entry and exit run 24 hours; work back from your return time to decide when to leave
- A day at Kobe-Sanda: shop at the outlet (free parking, 9:00 to 22:00), then call at Rokko Garden Terrace, about 12 km away in a straight line, or spend the night at the campground in Shiawase no Mura, about 17 km away. - Always read the height sign at a multi-storey entrance; if in doubt, do not go in, and look for a surface lot instead
