Since it opened in 1959, this park had been run by Sanyo Electric Railway's subsidiary Sumaura Yuen Co., Ltd., before coming under Sanyo's direct management from December 1, 2019. A ropeway from Sanyo Sumaura Park Station climbs Mount Hachibuse, followed by the 91-meter, 25-degree-gradient inclined conveyor "Carrator," leading to a rotating observation building offering a 360-degree panorama. A round-trip ropeway ticket costs 920 yen for adults and 460 yen for children, the Carrator round trip is 550 yen, and the observation building costs 200 yen for adults. Hours are 10:00-17:00 (last entry 16:30); it closes Tuesdays, though it stays open if Tuesday falls on a public holiday.
