Porto Europa, on the artificial island of Wakayama Marina City, is a theme park recreating a European townscape completed in November 1994. Admission became free on March 19, 2016, and remains free today except during special events; rides now run on a pass system, such as the Standard Pass (4,800 yen for junior high age and up, 4,000 yen for ages 3 through sixth grade). The rapids ride "High Dive" has a 22-meter drop, and the Ferris wheel stands 48 meters tall. Parking accommodates 3,500 vehicles at 1,500 yen per visit.
