Mine Topia Besshi is a mining-history theme facility built on the former site of the Besshi Copper Mine's Hadeba Mining Headquarters, which opened in June 1991 and also serves as a roadside station. Visitors ride the 10 km/h mining sightseeing train "Besshi No. 1" for about five minutes one way, then walk through a roughly 333-meter sightseeing tunnel; the mine tour costs 1,500 yen for adults, 1,100 yen for junior/senior high schoolers, and 900 yen for ages 3 through elementary school, with a train-only ride at 700/600/500 yen. The site also has a gold-panning experience, the indoor play facility "Akagane Kids Park," and the hot spring "Besshi Onsen -- Tenku no Yu." Parking for about 380 vehicles is free.
