Himeji Central Park, in Kamiya, Toyotomi-cho, Himeji City, opened in 1984 on a site of about 190 hectares, keeping about 190 species and 1,200 animals. It is divided into a drive-through Safari section (West Side) and an amusement park section (East Side). The amusement park has about 30 ride types, including the suspended coaster "Diablo," introduced in 1994, and a Ferris wheel; it operates a pool in summer and a 56m x 26m ice-skating rink in winter, plus the year-round gondola "Sky Safari." A combined ticket covering the safari, amusement park, and pool/skating on a regular-priced day is 4,200 yen for adults, 2,400 yen for elementary schoolers, and 1,300 yen for infants, with surcharges on busy and peak days. Parking is 1,200 yen for cars, 2,000 yen for buses, and 500 yen for motorcycles.
