Arakawa Yuen, opened in May 1922, is the only municipally-run amusement park in Tokyo, operated by Arakawa Ward on a site of about 30,000 square meters. It closed on November 30, 2018 for a major renovation and reopened on April 21, 2022. Its Ferris wheel, 40 meters tall, takes about 9 minutes per rotation, while its mini train covers a 223-meter track in about 3 minutes; other rides include a carousel, a family coaster, and a sky cycle. Admission is 800 yen for adults, 400 yen for age 65 and up and for junior high schoolers, 200 yen for elementary schoolers, and free for preschoolers; a free pass (including admission) costs 1,800 yen for adults, and ride tickets cost 100 yen each.
