Adventure World opened on April 22, 1978 as "Nanki Shirahama World Safari" and took its current name in 1983; it is operated by Ours Co., Ltd. on a site of about 800,000 square meters. It is divided into Marine World, Safari World, and the Play Zone (amusement park), keeping about 120 species and 1,600 animals. A one-day admission ticket costs 5,300 yen for adults (18+), 4,300 yen for ages 12-17, 3,300 yen for ages 4-11, and 4,800 yen for seniors (65+). The park kept giant pandas from September 1994 until June 2025, when all were returned to China.
