Hakuba is about eight hours each way from Osaka, so the trip needs a staging night in each direction — both are at RV Park Gujo Hachiman, open all year and with a self-service wash bay that gets the de-icing salt off the underside. The three Hakuba nights are at RV Park Hakuba Campsite: 9 m by 8 m pitches, no height limit, 20 A hook-ups throughout, and an official FAQ that says you may use it in winter but that the area gets deep snow and winter equipment — winter tyres or chains — is required. Happo-one and Tsugaike are 20 to 35 minutes away, there and back. ⚠ Days one and six are transfer days of 256 and 255 minutes, 6–7% over our three-to-four-hour daily budget. We would rather say so than quietly let it through. ⚠ The overnight truth about the three big Hakuba resorts: Happo-one states that the car parks listed on its page refuse overnight stays all year, and Goryu says every car park is closed to overnight parking. The only one with official permission is Tsugaike's car park 2, which is free and has toilets — but it is a car park, not an RV park: no power, no drainage, and snow clearing to watch out for. ⚠ Going on towards Myoko means the Joshinetsu Expressway between Shinanomachi and Arai, a national snow-chain control section. Driving times are OSRM × 1.2 campervan estimates on snow-free roads, not measured runs.
