Saigoku Kaidō (579 km): 15 days on foot in the Edo period, 10 by express horse — 5 days by campervan, passing all 52 post towns. Overnight stops are only michi-no-eki and RV parks we checked for 24-hour toilets and no "no overnight parking" signs. One-way trip: confirm drop-off at another branch with the rental company first.
